We all know that there are places, ( towns, rivers, mountains, squares ), which are of higher spiritual and strategic importance. This is true not only for GOD and his church but also for satan and his demonic army. One of these places, ( if not “the place” ) in our country of Switzerland is the Rütli and Seelisberg which is situated nearby. As the birthplace of this country it is a highly contested and sought after area. An interesting fact is that in 1947, Seelisberg was chosen to be the site of the first and only international Antisemitic Conference; in attendance were representatives of all the major church denominations together with those of Jewish organisations.
Therefore, it was no coincidence that in the 1970’s the Maharashi Sekte chose Seelisberg for the building of its World Centre for Transcendental Meditation. From this centre, situated directly above the Rütli, they wanted to bring peace to the world. We are convinced that this place is one of these filled-in and blocked-up wells, one which was previously beneficial, but later produced, circulated and promoted spiritually poisoned water. However, GOD is in the process of unblocking such disused and inoperative wells.
On the 1st. April 1999, during a national 40 days of prayer and fasting, we were, with other intercessors, at Rütli and GOD gave us the following words to pray and proclaim, from the inscription that Daniel saw on the wall (Mene, Mene, Tekel, Parsin):
GOD has numbered the days of your reign and brought it to an end.
You have been weighed on the scales and found wanting.
Your kingdom is divided. (Dan. 5: 26 – 28)
During the past 10 years we have been here at this place, at sporadic intervals, to pray and proclaim GOD’s word over the Rütli and Seelisberg. Now was the time to take a further step.
At Whitsun, around 100 intercessors gathered together at Rütli. They came, in answer to our invitation, as representatives of all 26 Kantons (counties) in Switzerland.
The scriptural basis for our meeting came from 2 Chronicles 15.
There were three main areas from this chapter for which we prayed:
– Renewal of the altar
– In a covenant to seek GOD, as never before.
– To drive the monstrosities out of the land.
It is always a very moving experience, when brothers and sisters from all four corners of the country ( from every county, every language and dialect ), come together and pray in unity.
What a privilege and what a joy!
This is true in a much wider context, because our gathering took place at the same time as the worldwide “Global Day of Prayer” ( see the report on the page “nations”). So we were also able to take part in this movement and pray the same words to our heavenly Father as intercessors from all 220 countries in the world.
