IWS Prayer Day 2017

The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
James 5:16b

This is true in all areas of our lives when we’re underway with the LORD, especially in regard to Israel. This was the theme of this year’s prayer day of „Israel Ministries Switzerland“ in Berne.

Three inputs led us into various areas of prayer. The first topic was the relationship of our congregations to Israel. Here we prayed for revelation of Israel’s relevance for congregation leaders, specifically regarding replacement and fulfillment theology. The second input made clear that our involvement with Israel must have hands and feet. In other words, don’t stop with prayer, but serve Israel in practical ways. The third input had to do with Swiss foreign policy regarding Israel. Here we prayed for a balanced view of Israel in the Swiss Foreign Ministry and for truthful reporting in the media – these just a few examples.

The day of prayer was framed in fulfilling times of worship, leading us into God’s presence, as well as a very moving dance presentation under the theme of Alijah. This dance, which included the prayer day participants, depicted the return of God’s people to Israel.

The day of prayer closed with the announcement of next year’s prayer day on April 28, 2018, and the desire that along with our long-standing faithful prayer partners, the young generation could be better mobilized next time.
